THE BASICS

WHEN?    Wednesday, March 26 - Sunday, March 30, 2008
or
Wednesday, April 16 - Sunday, April 20, 2008

WHERE?  The Inn at Gig Harbor, Gig Harbor, Washington, USA.

WITH WHOM?      Margaret J. Miller & Nancy Lee Chong

WHAT?    At Pieceful Harbor Retreat you will create one quilt influenced by two of the best teachers the Pacific Northwest has to offer.  With Margaret, using her newest Angle Play templates, color, value, and simple machine piecing you will create a wonderful pieced backdrop.  Onto that backdrop, you will appliqué an innovative design by Nancy.  The result will be a masterful blending of two wonderful styles, two techniques, two teachers, and memories to last a lifetime.

On the first day of the retreat, half the group works with Nancy, while the other half works with Margaret.  On the second day, the teachers rotate.  Then on the third day we remove the wall between the classrooms and bring everyone together for a fun day of independent work with both Margaret & Nancy in the same room.

Each day, a long, mid-day break will afford you the opportunity to continue working on your quilt, to go sightseeing in Gig Harbor, head to a local fabric store to shop, take a nap or relax in the hot tub!  Box lunches will be provided, so no time will be lost at a sit-down meal or in a restaurant.

Evening events will be fun and inspirational.  Go to bed early, or keep sewing late into the night.

This is an opportunity for non-stop fun and creative relaxation.

We look forward to having you join us!

Here is a peek at the quilt design for the 2008 retreats...
Using Margaret's AnglePlay templates this quilt will be super-fast to piece!

In what colors will you make yours?

(Patterns are only available to guests at our retreats.)

In 2008 guests will have their choice of appliqué!
Tulip - cut 2FAQ-style from two pieces of fabric, pictured above
Iris - cut Hawaiian quilt-style from one piece of fabric,
pictured at left
Rose - appliquéd in a traditional multi-piece style, at right
(photo is still a work-in-progress.)

Mix & Match appliqué pattern with appliqué style.  Nine possible variations!!!
Which will you choose?
