The following quilts were designed by students in Nancy's classes.  Patterns for these are not available.  As with every other quilt pictured on this website, please do not copy these designs.  They are copyrighted by the original makers.  We share them to inspire you to design your own quilts.  Thank you.

Dandelions & Clover.  Alison Vogel's own design with a Pacific Northwest flavor, done in the Hawaiian style and inspired by Nancy's classes.  22" square, hand appliquéd and machine quilted.

Trillium & Ferns.  Another unique design by Alison Vogel inspired by the flora of the Pacific Northwest.  22" square, hand appliquéd and machine quilted.

Peggy Sperry designed this delightful quilted wall hanging in Nancy's Hawaiian Design class.

"A crib quilt which ties together the two WONDERFUL classes I have taken from you:  your Celtic knot class, and your Hawaiian quilting class.  Learning your needleturn technique as well as the more specific techniques involved in those two traditions has opened up new worlds for me, and I am grateful!  The baby for whom
I made the quilt has the Celtic heritage from her father, and the Hawaiian/Chinese heritage from her mother.  Since I'm a Northwesterner now, the subject of the design is one of my favorite indigenous plants--the trillium.  I quilted it by machine, (hoping to finish it in the baby's lifetime)."  40"x 50" --Original design  by Alison Vogel.

Midwest Harvest by Joanne Talbott.  Joanne designed this 40" square quilt in Nancy's QuiltUniversity.com class (Make Your Own Hawaiian Quilt) using cornstalks and pumpkins.  How clever!

In the August/September issue (#108) of Threads magazine Janice had an article showing how to design in the Hawaiian-style using non-tropical design themes.  Check your local library for a copy.

Once you know how to needleturn appliqué you are not limited to Hawaiian quilts.  While that is our primary passion (can you tell?), we enjoy other styles of appliqué quilts as well.  Here are a few photos from students of Nancy's "Stress-free Celtic Knotwork Appliqué" class.

Celtic Knot work.  Sarah Smith's little red on white Celtic knot quilt is finished with a sculpted border.  What a wonderful touch.  Click here for Nancy's Celtic appliqué class description.

Marie Johansen's Celtic mini-quilt won a blue ribbon and an honorable mention at her county fair.  (Congratulations!)  She says she "beaded it some, just for fun."  Click here for Nancy's Celtic appliqué class description.
